funny thing too while I was in there messing around doing a complete system test I found where the system is detecting a fault "short to battery" on the exterior lighting (puddle lights) that I rigged to light up with the courtesy lights and even after having the hvac control module reprogrammed it still picks up the "missing" rear 3rd temp sensor that does not exist on my truck it doesn't cause any problem with the hvac but it's interesting how in depth the test gets.

I get mine into the learn mode by pressing the key fob buttons.

Speaking of keys....

I know my key has a chip (transponder) because of the + in a circle stamped on it. Is this just for the ignition or the door lock cylinder also?

I wanted to get a copy made to keep in my wallet while in my trip in case I lock the keys in the car I'll be able to unlock the door.

Any cut key will manually unlock the door, some cars used to come with a plastic one in a credit card that you could carry in your wallet you may still be able to get from a locksmith maybe haven't seen one in a long time.

Pay for onstar for a month, get the onstar app and unlock truck from your phone.
Alarm goes off on my 13 if I only use the key, need the fob to unlock it and disarm it.

Yeah, only problem with those is the keys used to be thinner, its metal under the plastic and it would be pretty thck for todays keys. I used to cut them when i was a kid. Plus with all the magnetic strips on credit/debit cards nowadays I wouldn’t trust it... just sayin’

Good idea! They keep sending me mail to get a free trial because I haven't activated it since I bought the truck last August. Might take them up on it before I leave next weekend. Only problem I see with it is if I lock the phone in the truck too.... Lol
