If you need it charged, you have a leak.
maybe, this thing has not been done since i've had it 2yrs and it's 7 years old, I have read that they can leak out over a long period of time, maybe a wider survey of temps from the nnbs will give a better idea ?

I have one of those refill can gauges but the connector is too small

If it's one of those DIY rigs, DO NOT use the ones that have any sort of leak sealer additives! Straight refrigerant only.

It is possible to lose refrigerant over a long time which would be such a small leak that you'd never find it. You just top it off as needed. I read your previous post as this is something you do every season. I'm sure you know better, but some people think it works like a fuel tank and you just keep refilling it when it runs out.

no I don't service the AC system unless it is not performing as expected, everything else yes, I would take it to the dealer to have them do it on there machine or this other shop that has a good machine as well I only have the refill can because my sisters car leaked and she had me just refill it for her on the cheap she didn't want too put the money into getting it fixed. I was just trying to get a idea of what other peoples temps were because it just doesn't seem to be up to par this season

Word.

As was said, too many variables. Maybe last year around this time the air was a little more or less humid? The only truly accurate way to know if it's properly charged and/or operating is to calculate low- and high-side pressures, ambient and conditioned temps, and probably other factors.
