Aren't those cladded chrome wheels with the cladding missing? Either way, I love the simple and symetrical look of them.

That they are. I've been working on them a little bit at a time for a couple months. Really, the hiccup that stalled the project for about a month was waiting for the center caps to come in from China, devising a cheap but solid way to make them snap in like factory and waiting an additional 2+ weeks for two replacement caps to come in because 2 of the 4 in the original shipment had a different mounting tang arrangement and size.

A six-spoke design just seems to go better with these rigs. These wheels have a much more sporty look, which is the direction I'm going with the Tahoe. They look out of place with the chrome trim. I wanted to swap speakers and install sound deadener when I removed the panels to change out the handles, but I don't have enough time for all of that. I'll probably just change the handles cuz it's really bothering me. Gotta paint those chrome mirror caps and grille, too.

the tires are the shoes and the rims are the socks

Eh. I've always viewed the wheel and tire combo as shoes, with the tire being the sole just as shoes have a rubber sole. You can have shoes re-soled (common with quality boots) when they wear out just as you can re-sole your car's shoes with new tires when they wear.

You know that part you removed was part of the Rim structure

Just like windshelds are part of the car structure (on modern vehicles )

What part did he remove that was part of the wheel structure? In that pic I don't see anything that was removed that was a part of the structural integrity of the wheel, but maybe I'm missing something. The part he remove is literally plastic cladding that was adhered to the actual wheel.
