Ah, good ol 3/8" allen wrench. That was the size that was used on GM brakes for years

ya, i'm sure I HAD one but it was ghosted, I got the loose set that has a optional slide on T bar handle, I saw nice steedman heavy duty SAE set for $10 at the hardware store I may go back and grab that one as well to have as a backup

Always like a reason to get tools. Once I needed a 10mm flexhead racheting box wrench. I paid $80 for that wrench and I got 7 other wrenches for free!

Ya, I kinda figured it would take a 1/2" Allen, but o"well I got it done and have a nice new set of Craftsmen sae Allen wrenches now, lol
I was just missing the 3/8's, the hardest part was beating the panhard bar on it fought me all way, took 2 sets of rubber mallets because there is no room under the truck to swing so I did it from outside the driver's wheel well, I put one mallet on the bar then smacked it with the other mallet

I decided to change the oil in the Silverado today and noticed a couple things. First was the oil filler tube being all cockeyed ( can we still say that these days?) and the other being the filter I bought wouldn’t screw on, the threaded hole was too big. I had an AC Delco UPF48R which was designated for my LY2 4.8 L engine. I had on hand the WIX 51522XP for the LQ4 in my 02 Denali and it screwed on fine. I looked up more filter #’s on Oreilly’s website as well as Rock Auto. I determined the correct hole size by using my right index finger. If it went all the way to my second knuckle it was too big, but to my first knuckle was correct. I also noted the filter I removed, a Mobil 1 M1-206A. At the store, all the filters listed online and in their application book had too big of threaded holes. I bought the Mobil 1 which Im glad they had in stock. Anybody else run into this? I also cleaned the engine bay a bit.

ya I had a brain fart, now of all the stupid little things I do not have is a 1/2" allen wrench, everything I have is metric or to small, off to the store again.

***so the fill plug is not 1/2", lol I don't know what it is at this point but I got it off

and can't tell yet what capacity is supposed to be paperwork say's most take 2qt, internet says anywhere from 2.2 to 2.41, this adds more room, so going to try and eyeball it, the fill hole is deep cant see in there, guess it's getting filled till it comes out the hole

lol, thanks and thanks for letting me know about these parts I only took it down the road and back to check for leaks, I don't know if I will be able to tell any difference from the panhard yet or not,it works, lol I jacked it up on both sides and it doesn't rub going up anyway. lower control arms were not supposed to be here till Monday but of course they showed up today right after I put everything away.

that would have been too much though I put the original cover up next to the new one and the fill hole is a bit lower so I left it at 3qt and had spilled a little so it should be pretty close to where it should be
