I think it was last week I posted my days starting to crack.. well we had a big cold front just sweep across CO, like 60 degree drop in less than 12 hours which did my dash in. It was 80 degrees at noon, 65 degrees by 4:30, and overnight went down to 18 degrees. That was too much for the dash...

Do not like. Yeah, I walked into the grocery store and it was 80 degrees. Walked out less than 30 minutes later and the wind was blowing about 40mph and it looked like a bomb went off. Another 30 minutes, and it’s blowing 60-70, temperature down to 40 something. Blew my gas grill across the deck and into the rail. Some crazy extremes we see here.

Weren't the s10's rough on ball joints too?
I got mine at 130k and stopped driving it at 210k. I only replaced mine once when the boots started to crack.

Edit: that said mine was 2wd with coil springs. Not torsion bars.

That said, I also shoved three pumps of grease in the upper and lower ball joints, and tie rods, and center link every oil change. And the pitman/idler arm. Linkage steering like that is great for durability, but shit tastic for steering angle.

A buddy (more like pen pal) of mine did it on his '07 Silverado Z71. It works fine, but doesn't have the tap shift column or proper gauge cluster. I believe he just had to add some wires for the computer in the trans and upload the proper tune. I want/need the extra gears so badly but I also want/need manual control and for the proper cluster to be functional- basically full factory operation.
Thats cool. When he puts it in 3, 2 or 1 does it still manually select that gear?

Yeah, we get hammered with wind sometimes. Not the first time the grill has been shoved into the deck rail. The weather shifts can be really crazy. Used to work a 1-midnight shift and went into the office with shorts, t-shirt and flip flops. When I left, I was brushing about 8” of snow off the car! [emoji23]

Not making this up, but I saw it coming. I left work and it was 80, went in to the store for about 15 mins. Fired up the Tahoe and it's nice and calm, but looked to my right and saw dirt and leaves flying like a tornado. Drove 5 miles towards it because it's where I live, and it was 62 there. Crazy shit for sure.
