Maybe add a piece of black rubber weatherstrip under there before installing the bow tie.

I thought about some of the thicker double sided tape. ⅛" stuff.

Going to be taking it back off to paint the part that overlaps the upper grill black. To blend a little bit more. Going straight across a ¼" back from outer edge of top.

That stuff I showed is about 1/4” thick and would fill the gap and crush when you install the bow tie. I got it at Home Depot.

That was my intention before I realized how thick the Nutsert flanges were. I may still use them since they at least look better than the original screws just put back in the holes.
I got the wrong size. My dumb ass didn't test fit one first. They dont fit. But are paint matched. These were supposed to be 5mm but are more like 6.5mm, fit in 12-14mm bolt holes.
