They were going to charge me 8k, but after leaving and i spoke directly to the owner, he went down to 5k

Back in 94 I did a complete color change paint job on my 88 SCWB Serra and cost me $4k. 26 years later and you are only paying 5k, that's a hell of a deal.

Got rid of the liquid wrap and In the shop getting all the dents out, filling the holes in the roof and new black paint.

It's going to be a brand new truck when you're done! $5k is a definitely a fair deal for a good repaint job. Just the sheer size of the truck probably required twice the material costs of a sportscar.

I was going to say, 4-5k for paint sounds like a deal.

Looking at painting my little vette my self, im at about 1200 just for primer, base, and clear.
Not counting stuff for prep.

Going with a metallic silver pearl, so that adds a little $$ due to layers needed.

1200 is probably pretty conservative... lol

Of course, I'm not buying the cheap paint.

That sounds like a fun project. Hope you’ve painted prior since you’re doing metallic and pearl. Both are very hard to do without blotchiness. Best of luck. Can’t wait to see it.

Never done a metallic, let alone a pearl.
been watching lots of youtube vids tho.

The plan is to paint a few things before i jump in.
If it goes well, my mower is going to match the vette... :D
Maybe I'll do something cool with my mailbox to start.

If it goes badly, then the vette might end up a charcoal, black, or some other solid color. :buffer:
