been watching lots of youtube vids tho.

The plan is to paint a few things before i jump in.
If it goes well, my mower is going to match the vette... :D
Maybe I'll do something cool with my mailbox to start.

If it goes badly, then the vette might end up a charcoal, black, or some other solid color. :buffer:

I would suggest practicing on something big like an old hood. Helps you learn how to overlap your pattern without making tiger stripes.

Good idea,
I plan on getting some junk vette fiberglass part, mostly i want to practice sanding and prep work on a SMC glass panel.

I did have a car to practice on, but i ended up needing the space in the yard... :D

Lol I would suggest a lighter solid color for a first full spray. Body needs to be flawless for black.

I like the idea of a matching lawnmower for practice. That’s cool!

Searching around a bit preparing for the DOD delete project on my Hoe.
I ran into this little part: ACDelco 96041864
Amazon.com: ACDelco 96041864 GM Original Equipment Multi-Purpose Drain Plug: Automotive

Apparently it fits the bleed off port in the oil pan...

thoughts on me deleting that little thing during the DOD/AFM delete?
I do have a Melling HV HP pump that I'm planning on using.
Thinking it might not be a bad idea so i don't have to pull that pan off again... :ehcapt:


Currently i'm searching for the vlom block off plugs, i like the idea of hammering in a plug vs threading since I'm probably not going to be pulling the block.
I also do have the correct block off plate with the sealing o-rings, so it would just be a backup anyways.

I just used an oil plug from AutoZone. With no AFM, that pressure release valve serves no purpose and is just one extra point for pressure to bleed off should that valve fail.

Finished my brake job tonight.

1.Bled as much fluid as I could.
2. Removed old calipers and sanded/cleaned rotors (I actually didn’t do this till the end as I remembered as soon as I put all the tires back on! :doh2:)
3.Installed new calipers (painted the fronts..rears came prepainted).
4.installed new Hawk Performance pads
5.Bled the fluid again (the new calipers suggested bleeding before installation so as to not to damage them)
6. Bed-in new pads.

Night and day difference to stopping power with new fluid and new pads!

I’m getting to the point where i need to have the rotors cut and new pads put on. I think 2021 i’ll get the money together to finally do z06 brakes up front
