Yup. I tend to take thecopcar off the beaten path. That’s why I have twins. Lol.

My dream one day is to go through my s10 and turn it into a little dedicated trail rig.

I'm also looking at my 5.3 block and thinking how much better that s10 would be with that installed.

It would need a different reluctor wheel than my gen 4 has anyways...
And then i need to rebuild the transmission anyways, so it's a good time to dump the v6 crap, add more clutch disks etc.

Then i remember how broke i am because of the hoe project.

It's so pretty, smells like a leather coat store...

Anyone have a clue what this could be for?
upload_2021-4-11_12-43-19.png

Looks like it goes to my fuse box, but it' not hooked up.
I figured it would be sloppily added into the harness and exit somewhere.
it does not.
And i don't see any signs that the harness has been opened and taped up...

This is the driver side of the truck, under the hood. Just under the brake booster

The wire is red with a black stripe.

ETA: googled and found it.

guess it's something related to the towing package and a brake controller? :)

Dicked around with "harmless" changes to the tune. Changed the TCC apply/release speeds, mainly to restore lockup in third, as advised by @pwtr02ss. I just copy/pasted my factory tune stuff for that one table. I don't know why, but the "clutch dump" feeling when the TCC locks in OD is gone or much less pronounced. I may lower the release TP%, though. Also tweaked the tire circumference 2.5% to alter the speedo. I need to get a cop to radar me one day. Or drive next to a Civic or some other car that has a giant digital speedometer that I can read.

Ordered a new spare tire hoist. Damn thing stuck and the secondary latch wouldn’t let the tire down. Apparently that is a thing, and the replacement is designed differently.

Fortunately this was discovered at home in the garage and not roadside somewhere.

Today...i finally got off my ass and tackled the rear springs, sway bar links, bushings. Now I'm taking a quick break, putting left rear tire back on , dropping then going for a spin.

I had nivomats, but i replaced those with some firestone Gabriel heavy duties a while back but I never changed springs. I got the Moog 81069 all you cats been talking about and I'll eventually get the Bilsteins but the Gabriels are doing a good job. I'm considering a level lift but also a 4"-6" lift. This is pretty much a weekend vehicle and am lucky to put 50 miles a week on it. My baby has 226k+ miles on her. I did the oil pan (4×4), oil change and right axle shaft seal and rear diff about a month ago but didn't catalog it.c041362c59854731ab506f2367c8878c.jpgfe394ea692fbe49eaf4a0b73356e370d.jpgf756679830b1efcd4f6966576042b519.jpg
