Mine’s enjoying a day at the spa (dealership). Window regulator replaced and the airbag recall.

This is a dangerous place for me to be. This beauty was here a week ago. Still here, and looking for a home.

Well, damn. I let them change my oil when I was there. Normally I DIY but sometimes while traveling I’m just not in a position to do that.

I have noticed since then she’s been marking her territory, so today I crawled under, and yeah, the oil filter is dripping. Sigh…

So now I’ll go to the parts store and get a new filter and install it properly. Life’s too short to go back to the dealership and hassle over it. If it was my hometown dealer they’d make it right, but these guys and I are just ships passing.

With the new trucks,
I heard there was an RPO code you could get that doesn't have AFM because of the chip shortage...
I don't know if they still come with that 10 speed, iirc it's that ford and gm combined effort.
Hopefully you can also order a 6 speed with it too. ;)

for filter leaks, odd. was it on there really tight?

On a side note,
I started having issues with K&N filters on my vette, started springing leaks after a while.
usually when my oil temps get nice and hot.
I switched to wix and stopped having issues.

I stopped using their filters after that, even though my vette was the only one to have the issue.

How did they install the filter?

Wrong filter, not tight enough, too tight, cross threaded?

So i noticed a little while back that the filter for my wifes 2011 buick enclave v6 has a larger capacity filter that appears to be a match for the tahoe.

I did her oil for the first time the other weekend, and noticed that the prior owner put on a different filter.
Slightly larger capacity than the one that the car calls for.

So i went
:hmmm2:

I ordered a couple to check out.

Tossed one on the hoe for it's first run.

Pretty much flush with the bottom of the pan!!

I think we have a winner.

Yup, here's a couple more "long" filters from GM, Mobil, and K&N.....

HP2011

Also mentioned the 57045 filter in this same thread back on Monday to Avalonandl
and you even "liked" it, lol

I just did some spec pulling for some filters in my build thread.
I think i might go with the 2011 enclave filter.
has a oil bypass pressure of 22psi vs the 12 that the hoe's filter calls for.

Is that better?

What exactly does that mean?

in my brain it sounds better.
Less psi = it will bypass sooner?
Higher bypass psi = force stuff through the filter for longer before it starts to bypass unfiltered oil?
