~ Cold Case, I'm about to call...
I’m buying a radiator soon, so I would appreciate some education. I’ve seen a few mentions of these. Because I am typically an OEM buyer I’m curious if anyone has measured any comparative data to verify a benefit from these?

I’m a skeptic by nature. Their advertising says:

“Don't buy a 3 or 4 row aluminum radiator! It doesn't cool as good as these oversize 2 row models.”

and

”Once painted, you'd be hard pressed to find a difference over an original versus a COLD-CASE.”

Well, if it’s oversized, why can’t I see the difference? And where does the larger dimension apply? The original fills all the space there is…

Some of the reviews on their website mention trimming shrouds or other mods to make it fit.

Anyone with firsthand experience to report?

I have the same setup, how did you connect the two 3/8 ones, your holding and other?

Short hoses and factory spring clamps from GM, Ford and Honda. The ones for the rear heater core (the two 1/2" that I trimmed down) had a slight leak which I'm quite sure is because they're not beaded. I threw on some regular worm gear clamps as a temporary solution.

The Cold Case core is twice as thick as the OEM core. And to get the fans to mount flush, you have to trim some of it to mount to the new core because of the way it's designed to snuggly fit tight in-between the tanks
I've had a 160° thermostat with both radiators. With the OEM radiator, it would still reach 200-210°+ with normal driving, with the cold case, I regularly see 175-190°.

I was in a hurry so I didn't paint mine because I didn't have paint on me at the time and it was also less than 60° ambient.
I don't like being able to see the shiny tanks through the grill, but it's not the end of the world.

Today? Drove it about 40 miles. Ended up putting $94 worth of corn in it. I feel R@p3d. The state and that station are disgusting. The price of corn has not gone up, and the little bit of gasoline in that mixture would not increase the price to $4 a gallon...
F that station
Damn, how much was the other octanes at that station?
