Duck bill pliers is what we have for 4l60. Get an eBay stand that bolts to engine stand. Really helps. And don't cheap out on the spring compressor. I think we first had a $20 job and it was a pos. Got the $100 one, can't remember brand. Worth it. Also, just cheap lip seal tools. No need for the expensive ones. They break just like the cheap ones. Good dial indicator for end play and some feeler gauges for clearances and you'll be good. I'm sure they have a few other specialty tools that I'm not thinking of or aware of. They say the 6 speed is one of the easiest transmissions out there to r&r (some may disagree but it's all just nuts and bolts to me. Do one, do them all). 6l80 has this massive snap ring, apparently there is a lot of tension on it.
I have some duck bill type of snap ring pliers that i used on my 700r4, slight modification to them to really grab.

Keep me posted on the tool selection you get and how they work. I imagine a 6speed will be in future at some point. Next swap I do on something will have more than 4 gears and I may end up upgrading my c10 at some point.

How many of you guys/girls have replaced the door pin roller bushings?

I replaced mine within the last year and its pretty much junk already. I believe it's a Dorman and it has a grease fitting. Even full of grease it didn't last.

What have you guys used?

I'd like to stay away from brass/bronze bushings.

I just did this on my wife’s Yukon since I needed an immediate fix and no one had hinges in stock locally. I’m seeing the same thing, even with grease, after just a few weeks. Need to get a hinge on order and just be done with it.

I've had luck with pins on my OBS but they were a different style.
Looks like I'll be heading over to gmpartsdirect to get a hinge assembly.

I used the Gruven Parts on my mirrors, door latches, and rear tailgate. Im sure they have some fittings, it sure beats the plastic POS ones

About 2 months ago my drivers door hinge was being noisy when opening and closing. That roller bushing that sets into the detents to hold the door open at various positions wasn't rolling and was froze up with ice and gunk. I bought a can of the ACDelco GM original equipment Super Lube (12346241) as listed in my owners manual for door hinge lubrication and it's been fine so far
