Those are just dust caps, not meant to hold pressure. Better get a new valve in there I’m afraid.New AC compressor is in, and working great. Unfortunately, when I removed the service lines from the ports, the high side Schrader valve is leaking. I replaced the plastic cap with the new one, snugged it down, and checked with soapy water, and no bubbles. Hopefully will be OK.

It will leak. Might be awhile before you know but eventually you'll lose. I've been there only it was my low side. Bummer is, I don't think you can swap them without losing all the freon. I ran mine until it wouldn't work so good anymore- I think it was a couple months- and then swapped it out and had it recharged.Understood, but its Doing a good job of it, lol.
