I usually pass then on the right, still in the on ramp, as they immediately attempt to merge way before the merge lane ends, which creates a big gap in front of them as they slow down the entire freeway because they have no clue how this on ramp/ merge theory works. Then I shoot to the fast lane easy peazy.
these idiots around here will get on at 35mph and stay in the merge lane until they have no choice but to move over so I just cut to the left from the get go 99.9% of the time, usually they are all back to back in the merge lane so the left lanes are open, stupidest shit.
the real kicker is the people with no headlights on, never ever ever fails I see at least one every time I go out at night.

I get close to it a lot :driver: easy to hit 80-100 just getting on the freeway, people drive so slow sometimes on the onramp, I don't want to die by a semi truck running me down. so I usually sling shot past them and right into the fast lane.

Same. I hold 2nd in the merge lane and watch over my left shoulder for the first opportunity to mash it. Assholes here refuse to go faster than 45 on the on-ramp, then expect the interstate to come to a screeching halt to let them on. After causing a pile-up, they floor it to go no less than 15 over, riding people's ąsses and cursing them for slowing them down. Then, a mile before their exit, they coast back down to 45.

1st post as I learn more about this forum. I recently purchased a 2008 Tahoe LTZ with the 5.3 flex. So far I have replaced both front struts (ACDelco 580-435) had Goodyear change out the coils. Also replaced the rear shocks (Arnott MR-3436). These made a massive difference in the ride.
Problems still to fix - getting P0420 and P0455 error codes. Dealership is telling me it is bad catalytic converters. Appointment Wednesday at my local muffler shop to replace at half the costs. Keep my fingers crossed this fixes the issue.
What’s next you ask? Good question. Any ideas?

Welcome to the cult from another '08 Tahoe LTZ owner!

Will they let you keep your old cats or is there a "core charge"? I think you can recycle them for a nice chunk of change, like, a few hundred bucks. I'm not the authority on this, though. You'd have to ask your local crackhead.

Start a project thread >HERE< so we all can keep track of the progress.

Those assholes don't do much more than 45 in the fast lane either. All the while pacing the slow lane or if they get wild, bump up a mile an hour or two.

Yes, I'm still salty about Louisiana drivers...

Hopefully it'll buff out:(
I rechecked it tonight and it is actually a scratch dent all along that side. I will check with a paint less dent removal company to see what they can do. I was turkey hunting and honing along a washed out logging road. I got sucked into a rut which guided me into this small tree. Oh well.

Picked up Tahoe Twin to ride along to a RaceTrac 35 miles away to burn extra gas. Cruising on I-10, even at 80-90 with a couple bursts higher than that didn't burn enough. So we rode around some backroads for a bit.

Finally got below E and went to the RaceTrac for ~13.5 gallons of E85. Took another small trip to monitor the alcohol content until it settled. Then, since he keeps blowing me off when I ask him what I owe him for mowing my yard last week, I took him across the street to Lit Pizza for dinner. Neither of us had ever been and I wanted to try their cauliflower crust.

I usually run at 79/80 on the freewway and like I taught my daughter I am traveling faster than traffic when I merge.

That's one of the top three rules I drill into my daughter's head:

1. Always pay attention

2. Always expect someone to not be paying attention and make a wrong move

3. Try to not cause people to have to hit their brakes
