ordered h3 motor mounts from amazon yesterday, got them today with free shipping! Looks factory, but there is a gap/offset on one of the mounting holes. About 1/8" gap on the good one, maybe 3/16" on the offset one..

thinking about ordering two more and returning the worst two..
That’s suspect. I would probably do the same thing you suggested.
Mark them with a red paint pen so the next guy knows.

I think I saw a sticky tread about motor mounts. wonder if there's anything in there about it
Not it’s more on the install methods and tools recommended. I think some of us went into detail explaining the different styles from this hummer mount and the OEM fluid filled ones for the Yuks/Hoes.
Are they right/left specific?
Not the Hummer mount. You order two of the same one.

for the cost of these, I wish there was an aftermarket replacement!
This was the same one I purchased but on my master list it has p/n 15854941 listed as the “solid mount”. I’m not even sure what that number is even for? Maybe a pick-up truck or the Avalanche?
The one you bought is the correct number. Looks like I paid $92.74 when I bought mine and they are $230. Yikes. Hell of a “fluctuation” @Doubeleive. Haha!

I swear they're the same as a standard GMT800 mount. Or, a GMT800 mount would work just the same. Does anyone know any different?

To add my dick to this circle jerk, I bought two of part #25847739 from RockAuto in October of 2018 for $76.79 each. In March of 2019, for my brother's '05 Sierra, I bought two of part #25828247 at $62.89 each March of 2019 from Amazon. They're $94.86 now.

man reading thru reliability threads, it's crazy how guys in the performance world made a name for themselves by taking junk yard Gen 3 tahoe engines, throwing a cam in it, big turbo and make 800hp for next to nothing, reusing bolts gaskets and everything but on the trucks themselves left along they need replaced at 150-170k miles.

life long gm guy, but man leave it to gm to take one of the most reliable push rod v8's made and turn it into a ticking time bomb at 150k in trucks that never gets abused.

what a shame.

Today I loaded mine up with tools and parts and went to handle a side hustle. Ran it to fumes and got 5.3 gallons of E-85 ($15 worth) and 7.7 gallons of 93 ($30 worth). RaceTrac is the only E85 source that I'm aware of. If I had a lick of sense, I would've gotten my 93 from Chevron or Texaco. Whatever.

on that note why did gm make so many different mounts for a ls. ugh, a Gen 1 sbc used the same clam shell mount from 1960 to 1990 and never failed. just sagged a little.

on a cost note. I replaced my c6 mounts after I tore one and fluid went everywhere for less than tahoe mounts lol.

people be crazy with prices.

You mean on the Gen 4 trucks with AFM, yeah?

what a shame.

You can't beat GM up too badly over it. The EPA has steadily been tightening down on them to improve the fuel mileage of their SUVs. I think they eked by the standards set forth and released the first iteration of AFM prematurely. They revamped it with considerable reliability improvements around 2010. All considered, the risk of having a first or second generation of AFM still far outweighs any benefits it'd ever return. They just needed the engines to achieve X efficiency in whatever operational testing environments the EPA demanded. Us end users seem to rarely ever experience those operating environments.
