Picked up a front diff for the Yukon, from a 2011 and supposedly has about 140K miles. Donor vehicle had what seemed to be an oil cooler leak so the aluminum was somewhat preserved from being covered in oil and looks decent after a cleaning.

My front diff needs a pinion bearing so I wanted to either rebuild a donor, or swap one while I rebuild mine. I bought this for a couple hundred and either way I can have a spare, or sell later after whichever diff gets rebuilt goes back into mine. Since it's my current daily driver I need to keep it on road.

Backlash at the yoke, the best I can measure with a film of oil still on the teeth is .011", everything feels very smooth, under no load of course.

Does GM use the multiply by .5 or .7 method for calculating backlash at the yoke?

Is this AWD or 4WD? Just curious because the actuator is missing. Did it transit like that? Does it not leak oil if the actuator is not in place?

Mine is AWD, this diff was from a Denali also.

The oil leak was definitely layered on the top so at the moment I'm ruling out a seal.

I need some help with an electrical issue. I only have one working electrical 12v outlet in my Denali: front right. The others appear dead. I looked at fuse box but could not find the fuse for these outlets. Which fuse is it?

Also my airshocks appear to not be working.

here's what I see for the lighter and the compressor. the diagram for the lighter stuff is a bit of a cluster, it seems gm wired every option level differently.

Interesting.

No, this diff is as it was removed, no encoder motor, def not a hybrid.

Apples and oranges. The encoder motor goes on the transfer case, not the diff.

An AWD diff has no "actuator" to engage the front diff, since it's always engaged. A 4wd front diff has an actuator that engages the diff when commanded.

I think my description was misconstrued.

The diff I pictured is how it was taken from the donor Yukon Denali, so being AWD, it has no "actuator" but I used the term "encoder motor"....I do thank you for the clarification... :thumbsup:
