I don't disagree with you in principal but since I work in IT (specifically software/network testing and security testing...) I see instances all the time of info poached off the web that is used for unsavory purposes as someone on the road doesn't have access to my name and other info, just a license plate. Anyone who can gain access to the DB here can get name/email and with the license plate, is closer to being able to execute those 'bad things'.

Probably overkill, but maybe chalk it up to an ounce of prevention???? ;-)
I guess you may be right. With that being said, anyone who puts a decal on their back window with a baseball, softball, volleyball, etc. and the kids first name and their jersey number along with what school they attend, could be putting their family at risk because now I know what school the kid goes to. From there, I can figure out their last name by looking at a team roster which will let me start to track them on social media and find out where they will be and when, and either use that information to abduct your child or find out when the family isn't going to be home and break into their house. I'm not saying this is you, but I find it funny how people get hung up on one aspect of possible identity theft or security, but then not think twice about other aspects like when they post pictures while they are out of town at a sporting event or on vacation or whatever and not think twice about it. My cousin posted something about 10 years ago about how she was feeling down so she was going to go on walk along a secluded lake by herself while enjoying a bottle of wine as a way to relax. My mom called her and told her she just told people with bad intentions that she was going to be alone, in a secluded area and possibly intoxicated. She hadn't even thought about it that way.

Where do you stop?

Comp cams makes a set of nice set of covers. You can buy the ones with logo online but plain need to be ordered by calling in. No stand offs for the coils but they have two kinds of brackets for them. If you don’t want to spend a lot just get the Holley ones.

These are just valve covers, I need combo or coil covers

It’s the same with checking in. When you check in to a place it tells everyone you’re not home.

the real threat is being a keyboard warrior and then waking up to your house on fire, other than that you have virtually nothing to worry about posting anything online, get real. you have a greater risk of dying a car accident today. your primary annoyances are going to be "spam" email and phone calls. to reduce those occurrences try to not enter your email and phone number into every dam database on the internet. webcrawlers mine that info 24/7

Agree, except in cases of children. Those POS predators will track down our kids.

True but most of that is localized stuff, not many predators have the ways and means to travel across the country to prey, but it has happened
the stuff that happens with kids is it generally the least suspect person, another family member, friend of the family, people in trusted positions.
