What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

That’s the first I’ve ever heard of anyone not unplugging the TB or unhooking the battery when cleaning or changing them out.
I’m curious now…why do you guys think others are running into issues with needing to do a relearn (by that I mean taking it in and having it done)? Is it the difference in OEM vs. aftermarket parts, specific years not relearning as well compared to others, or maybe not giving it enough time to work out the issue?

no idea, unplugging it won't matter the engine is off
the only thing I can think of is maybe they are pushing on the butterfly so hard they force it out of adjustment?
when you move the butterfly by hand it only goes so far about 96% open, I just hold it open with my finger while cleaning with the other hand.
same thing the tech does at a shop if you request to have it done plus they usually wipe out the intake tube or blow it out with air and add some injector cleaner, maybe clean the maf and charge you for a new filter plus $90 labor.

I begin with holding it open with one hand, spraying some throttle body cleaner all over the blade and into the intake, then grab an old toothbrush and scrub all the carbon off and as far into the intake I can get, spray off the residue and put it all back together. Start it up and wait 90 seconds or so and the idle smoothes right out…

Looks like you have the gap between the top of ya taillights and appliqué as well. Mine has the same

$8 off a two pack although prices in general are still stupid, it doesn't hurt as bad now that corn is back to being $2 cheaper than premium.

any recommendations for a battery powered impact that can do lug nuts off & back on?
I like bang for the buck stuff so brand name doesn't matter but not trying to go for harbor freight either unless it's one of the rare reliable tools
I usually use air tools but something portable may come in handy in the future.

As of late, I've been using a DeWalt 20v 1/2" drive impact gun. But I didn't buy it.

I recently got a Rigid 1/2” electric impact wrench. It’s got 600ft-lb of torque and works like a champ fir changing tires.

Anyone running a Melling water pump? What did you think of it compared to OEM and are you running Melling gaskets as well?

I looked at the Melling when i did my dod delete on the 5.3, they didn't mention anything about improved design or anything like that.
But they did have a higher price than most.

I forgot what i went with in end.

For timing chain,
I got the loyds the first time, but after the engine pumped metal i replaced it for good measure.
Second timing chain i got the Melling.
The Melling had a much beefier feeling tensioner.
The chain felt less "Roller" than the loyds did, possibly less flex in the Melling chain.
Lyods felt smooth and slick, if not for the brand i would have thought the Melling chain was a cheap unit.

That said, I'm sure the Melling water pump is really nice, probably high-quality bearings too.

Sorry too much info there, but this concludes all of my thoughts on Melling products that i have experience with.

I have the milwaukee m18 impacts. The mid torque (650 ftlbs IIRC)hasn't had any issues breaking lug nuts loose so far. I haven't even used the high torque (1400 ftlbs).

The mid torque is like the perfect size, IMO. The compact is balanced weird and doesn't seem very strong (250 ftlbs) I will attach a pic below


All that being said, Casey has an "Earthquake" from Harbor freight and it gets the job done. I'm not sure what the cost was though.

The Earthquake is battery operated? I have an Earthquake, but it's the compressor style.
