What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have a car ('94 Acura Legend) that's been sitting in storage since 2020 as well. I also put in Sta-Bil. Fires right up.

i would say if it starts and runs just drive it, worse case it runs like crap till you add fresh gas, if it's so bad it won't run then do like mark said take the filler tube off and go in that way

Throw some fuel treatment and some octane boost in there and drive it. It'll be fine.
I would find out how much fuel you’re dealing with before making any decisions on how to remove it or what to do with it once it’s removed. I siphoned out 12 gallons pretty easy, put it in containers and then transferred it to other vehicles but that was good gas. I removed the fuel filler neck and that made easy access with a hose. How are you planning on disposing of the old gas?

Thanks guys. I put some Sta-bil in the tank back in 2020, but I have no clue if he’s added any new gas since then (doubtful). His dementia is getting worse each year…month…week. This photo is a prime example.
God only knows how much gas is actually in the tank. That was my only worry with doing the hand pump method, unless it kept a prime once it started syphoning. Obviously if the draining end of the hose was low enough it should stay primed with back pressure depending on the method used.
As for disposal, he probably would have used it in the lawn mower or on the bonfire. I’ll just tell him to add a can of fresh 93 and let her rip.

Luckily I went over there and caught it before the weather hits tonight/tomorrow.

You might want to pop that driver switch module, take it inside and use a hair dryer on it just in case any snow melted and leaked into it unless it was too cold to melt. Those modules are expensive and have to be programmed to the VIN.

So I finally got around to cleaning my original throttle body and put it back in my Yukon. I'll be returning the one I got on Amazon Warehouse. My idle is back to normal. I don't think it needed to relearn but I did it anyway.

I also replaced the oil cooler lines. They were a disaster and leaking from multiple places. Next is the transmission cooler lines but I think I might take it in to get done. I'm a YouTube mechanic and from what I've seen it might take more effort than I am willing to put in.

Hopefully if I can sneak into the shop at work tonight to keep from freezing my balls off, I can get these installed. R/R door. The locking mechanism on the old one took a crap, keeps getting stuck in locked position. I accidentally stripped the old lock knob trying to pull it up to get the door to open.

Thanks. I was thinking the same but i know his was already crapping out, otherwise I would have. It wasn’t cold enough to melt any of the snow, but that doesn’t mean his window wasn’t down during some of the warmer days we had or if it had rained during that time. I’m pretty sure the last time he was even out there was like a week or two before Christmas.

Glad to hear you got her figured out. How much fun were those oil cooler lines - that was your first time ever doing them correct? Did you end up cutting out the old ones to make it easier on yourself, or were you able to get them removed in one piece?
Are you planning on swapping out your trans cooler with something “rated” for use in our sized SUV’s (one that’s rated for keeping up with the towing capacity that the Yuks/Hoes have)?

I did both my oil cooler and trans cooler lines at the same time or at least in the same weekend. If I remember correctly the trans cooler lines seemed easier to install, but I also may have had some other stuff removed/unhooked that made the job less of a headache while laying on a creeper.

So it actually got up to 46° yesterday afternoon. Damn near all of the snow was melted, minus the bigger piles or anywhere shadowed from the sun. I wake up this morning and we already have about 4” of fresh powder with another 10” expected by this afternoon/evening.
As much as I despise the cold with each passing year, at least it’s not such a sloppy mess. Or at least that’s what I told myself this morning when I went out feed the horses and do chores.

Only one more week of looking at this tundra @swathdiver but if you want me to bring any of it down with me, I won’t be able to fit more than a couple handfuls in the motorhome freezer.
