What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Drove it to bring Kin to a car show, picking up my stepdad, Johnny, along the way. When he got up to walk to the Tahoe, he was unstable and dragging his right leg and foot. Said he woke up feeling strange but was feeling a lot better. He's really stubborn and proud and was literally trying to walk it off. I told him to get back in the house and called an ambulance. Kin and I followed the ambulance to the ER and, as expected, they're suspecting a mild stroke. On the ride to the hospital, Johnny told the paramedics his symptoms had just started, so they were planning on giving him a tPA as soon as he got to the ER. My brother, Justin, is an EMS Educator (awarded 2021 NAEMT Educator Of The Year, actually ) and has access to a portal for patient cases so he saw their assessment and plan of action. In actuality, Johnny's symptoms were over four hours old, putting him well outside the three-hour safety window for the tPA and into a life-threatening danger zone had he been given it. Justin called some contacts at the hospital and advised them of the corrected timeframe. After some tests, they're now suspecting a TIA (transient ischemic attack), which is a much better case. Currently awaiting an MRI.

Also, I noticed my right turn signal hyperflashing. I was relieved to see the reflection of the turn signal on the the car in front of me. I am NOT in a position to be pulling a damned headlight assembly at the moment.

Crazy old basterd. I’m stubborn as hell but if I’m dragging a foot I’m going to the hospital. Hoping for the best.

Replaced my cabin air filter (and engine filter too). Used a DWD2 evap cleaner which did clean a lot. My before pic isn't very good to compare against. Went on a long test drive. South of Cincy got passed by a PRIUS. That kid was really pedaling! I was going to pass him back but decided to let him have that small victory. Just south of the Ohio river saw half a dozen turkeys off to the north of 275. And wife switched her desire from a new Explorer to a Bronco. Life is good!

You used an evap cleaner from inside? I just used one but it said to put it in through the ac drain on the firewall. I’m not sure if it did anything. It said to run the ac afterward and I didn’t notice the outside temp was only about 50 so it wouldn’t come on until later in the day.

Way to be ON IT. You did exactly the right thing and timeline is crucial. Hope the MRI is in his favor too and gives y’all something to work with for treatment.

Yes, so it is a foam. I tested spraying it in a box and it really foams up. You can see where I drilled a 3/16" hole (they give you a plug to put in afterwards). You turn on the a/c and start spraying it in. It will cover the face of the evap with foam. It will be forced thru the evap and quickly turns to liquid which runs out of the drain hose. When the can is about empty and the face of the evap is covered in foam you turn off the a/c or engine. Let it sit 15 minutes then turn it back on and the rest of the foam/liquid will run out the drain. First time I used that product. I think if I did it again I would spray half the can fan on, let it sit 5 mins fan off, spray last half fan on, then let it sit 15 fan off, then run fan. It was really easy. In our vehicles I think you should put a/c on floor vent and place a towel under there to catch any drips. There were a few and it was black. Next time I won't even have to drill the hole. BTW the first 95000 miles that vehicle did not have a cabin air filter. I bought that product after I put in the air filter (and saw how dirty evap was) but just now got around to using it. That was the condition of the filter after 20000 miles after I put it in. Perhaps the evap won't ever need cleaned again.
Note: Do not drill into evaporator!

Yeah the one I used was a foam too. I’m wondering that since I actually flushed the front evaporator with an ac flush kit last week when I rebuilt the entire system if that cleaned the same area as these foam kits do. I had all the lines removed and flushed about a quart of cleaner through the evaporator. I also replaced the rear evaporator completely.

Drove my '07 to Luray, VA and back for a guys weekend on the river with a good group of buddies. The new steering rack transformed the handling and it feels like new. No more wandering and constant micro-corrections. It had been changing so slowly over the last 30K that I hadn't noticed it until my wife drove it to DC a month ago and commented on it. She usually drives our LR2 or the '12 XL Denali so she hadn't been behind the wheel of the '07 in at least a year until that trip. Averaged 17.5 MPG for my weekend trip. These may well be the best road trip vehicles ever made. Comfortable, fast, safe, easy to drive, holds everything you may want to take.

I installed the Power Stop Z36 Truck and Tow Brake Pads & Rotor Kit on the front and back of my 07 Denali XL this past weekend. Lets just say I will never ever ever go back to Napa "premiums" ever again. This is the best set of rotors and pads I have ever used.
Quiet, no dust so far and nearly stops on a dime.

I installed the Power Stop Z36 Truck and Tow Brake Pads & Rotor Kit on the front and back of my 07 Denali XL this past weekend. Lets just say I will never ever ever go back to Napa "premiums" ever again. This is the best set of rotors and pads I have ever used.
Quiet, no dust so far and nearly stops on a dime.

I have those on my ‘07 as well for the last 30K and have been happy. Pad wear is a little wavy on the rotors but so far they’re wearing very well.
