Installed the skid plates :)

New metal bash guard and diff cover:

And anyone know what the rear of the diff plate is supposed to bolt to? Couldn't find anything from the donor 'burb. :dunno:

Waiting for some parts ... put the low/reverse clutch spring in the tranny, removed the casting flash, started mocking up some stuff to take some comparison pics ...

Hard to see but there is a gap below the sunshell and the race in a normal setup:

New Sonnax smart shell setup, no gap, transfers the load more efficiently using a roller thrust bearing instead of plastic washer:

Front Diff mounting bracket is p/n 15567534 - BRACKET.
NLA from GM but you can get for $12 from Vintage parts.

Where/what vehicle/years did the metal bash plate come from? I've only seen plastic ones.
