Took mine for a spin (not my daily driver; too special), thoroughly enjoying the smoothness of the motor, and the general driving experience.

I've been chewing on the idea of getting replacement tires. The ones on it now are old and causing an out-of-balance shake on the freeway (I'm assuming, being that I recently had the tires balanced and it didn't help). It has 265 70R 16 Firestone Destination LE tires. I like the look okay, but in looking at tirerack.com, they don't have the size, but they do with the Destination LE2 series. $132 and a very good rating (8.8 out of 10).

I've also been chewing on the concept of...that's right...lowering the front end another solid inch. I think the stance of the already lowered look of the Limited would be further excellentized (my word) with a bit of a nose drop. The big question is...how would one do it (right)? I've not read any solid info on what's been done to the Limited to lower them the 2" from the regular Tahoes. IOW, did they use lowering spindles or lowering coil springs? Wait...no coil springs in the back. So I'm a bit miffed. But I wouldn't want to buy a lowering spindle that does what's already been done, thereby...not lowering it any more.

I need to take mine to Autozone and have the codes read. The ABS light came on the other day but my Torque app didn't find any codes. If it's one of the ABS sensors on front, I'll likely replace both sides unless that isn't advised.

You need a special code reader for the abs module, most code readers won't read abs codes on these trucks. Best take it to a shop that has it.

Decided to make it 4 wheel drive again, despite the fact that the pinion bearing in the front diff is shot, and a u-joint is seized on the front drive shaft. Now I can't drive it on the interstate for any length of time, but that's ok because I have a small car for that. I'm not going to worry though, next spring I will replace the IFS with a solid axle.
