changed oil and filter. mobil1 high milage 5w-30. added half a bottle of rislone to work the boogers out.
ok , so WTF is ith the location of the oil filter on the fwd ?? of course the thing was on there tighter than a frogs ass. i didnt have a filter adapter to fit , so i used , or tried to use vice grip filter pliers but couldnt get enough bite. ended up having to puncture the filter with a screw driver and turn it. friggin messy couldnt the engineers come up with a better way than that 90 degree adapter? if anybody has a "trick" im listening... something that should have taken me 15 min turned into an hour.
When you put the new filter on, only go moderately hand tight, that way it won't seize on. Other than that, I like to turn the driveshaft at a 45° and that way the oil drains nicely down it with one drip line off it into the catch pan.
