I have 4.56 with a eaton posi
I did the upgrade after my stock g80 blew out
they were on 295/35/24 for a couple months and did alright with gas mileage
then upgraded to 305/30/26 and it got better

it is such a big difference from the stock 3.73 trying to spin that big of a tire from a dead stop

do 4.56 I promise you won't regret it :)

just make sure to get a blackbear tune or equivalent so you can change your speedometer.. it will be off 15 mph

26's have a huge rolling mass, why I say 4.56...heck, i almost chose 4.56 with 31" tall tires and 20" rims....couldnt imagine 26's.

I added 20's and you can feel the difference, lacking compared to stock, I would for anything over a 20" in a 2000-2006 SUV.

It's never a bad idea to upgrade your brakes. IMO, GM brakes are not the best to start with whether you put on larger rims or not.
