What is this in my Denali?

Hey there,

I've been lurking on these forums for the past two weeks as I was in the process of purchasing a 2005 Yukon Denali. Now that I have it in my possession I have been familiarizing myself with the vehicle and found this thing attached to the upper control console where the map lights and rear AC controls are.

It looks like a mic to me and I pried it back a bit and saw a wire running to it.

So the question is:

Is this a stock thing or aftermarket?

If it is aftermarket, where else in the truck should I look to see where it connects?
