What to do before a long trip?

I have a 1999 Yukon Denali with 171k miles and I'm going on my yearly trip to my cabin in Canada. This is my first my time going on a trip with this truck. The drive is 1500 miles round trip, and we leave on the last week of June so it will be hot. Mechanically it is pretty well off right now with the exception of an exhaust leak that I haven't found yet and the yoke spline clunk. What all should I replace or get checked out?

Do your oil for sure if it will be do midway thru trip. Otherwise check condition and level of others. Things you should be doing anyway. Nothing really special that needs attention.

Make sure u have ur spare and whatnot. When I went on my 600ish trip I just made sure all looked good and didn't even have my spare lol. But it held up and had no problems

Okay I guess I'll just check everything out and change the oil before then, it needs it soon anyway. I guess the only thing I have to do before then is find someone to watch my 6.5 month old Pit, since I just found out there is a strict ban on pitbulls in Ontario and she won't be allowed to enter the country.

News to me too, I've been going up there every year for 20 years and never heard anything about it. I don't know about all of Canada but at least Ontario does have a ban.
