Here it is according to GM Autobook for a 2010:

GU6 - REAR AXLE, 3.42 RATIO [Included and only available with [K5L] Heavy-Duty Trailering package]

K5L - TRAILERING PACKAGE, HEAVY-DUTY includes [KNP] external transmission oil cooler and [KC4] engine oil cooler, provides increased trailering capabilities [Includes GU6] 3.42 rear axle ratio]

Max Trailer Wt.

5200lbs. Weight Distributing Hitch

K5L (w/3.42 axle)

Here's a quick way to tell at a glance (if the wheels on it are OEM):

S80 - WHEELS, 4 - 20" X 8.5" CHROME CLAD (Requires [K5L] Heavy-Duty Trailering Package)

Well thats about all the info I needed. I am now looking for a good used Denali or SLT since they seem to have the goods.
I called the local GM service dept to ask what would entail changing the gear ratio and he said that he didn't know if he would even do it because it is so extensive. Better to wait till one comes up that has what I want.

In any event, I now know what to do...Start with a 3.42 read axle and the HD cooling can be put on later if need be...

Thanks all...Ill keep you informed how all this works out..

Thanks to the info on this forum I was able to know what to look for. I ended up with an 09 Tahoe LT. Nice vehicle, all the goodies and should be able to tow respectively with the 3.42 rear axle ratio..

it says they are DEFINETLY going to that or SPECULATION of it?

The Suburban and Escalade ESV will be unchanged IF the Tahoe/Esky go to the Lambda platform, IIRC
