The steering on my 22 equinox is very tight. The same as my 2019 equinox

how can I get the steering on my 21 Tahoe to be tighter.

less play.

Unfortunately mine has been a little odd since day one. I had the dealer perform an alignment on it to hopefully fix it being off a little to the left all the time and it did nothing for it.

I’d be happy if straight on the steering wheel meant straight down the road. :)

how tight do you want it? my 2 current vehicles i can turn the wheel with 1 finger and go full stop to stop with it. I prefer it easier to turn. also, there may not be a way to since it is using electronic power steering.

I think part of it is just a larger vehicle. A Tahoe is never going to be as responsive as an Equinox. More mass, larger tire sidewall, etc.

Only thing that would really firm it up are lower profile tires.

Thanks for the replies. As the Tahoe goes faster, the steering tightens up. So at slow speeds it is easier to turn from end to end. I’m thinking if the front wheels are angled just a little more inward/ \ the steering will tighten up

if you look at the steering column through the dash hump, to me it usually looks like the steering column cants left. For this reason. I use the chevy logo on the airbag and set my own perception of straight. I’ve gone so far as to use a level The trick is to get that balance. The sweet spot where the steering wheel can go a little right and left and not move the car

If it tightens up the faster you drive, then im not certain you can tighten it up. There is likely a reason it feels "loose" at low speeds, so you can turn the wheel to steer around corners/into parking spaces, swerve to miss idiot drivers easier with less effort. In the highway you rarely need to turn the wheel more then 30-45 degrees to maintain lane, change lanes, go around curves. If you really want your wheel to be tight, take to dealer amd see if there is something they can adjust to stiffen up the steering wheel for you. Otherwise not sure there is a fix/workaround.
