Wheel Rubbing in reverse

So I'm new but looks like I came to the right place. just got a new to me 08 Yukon XL and put new 20" rims with 275 55 R20 tires. All was going well till I backed out the next morning and cranked it to the left out of my driveway and heard a dreaded rubbing sound. I thought 20 x 9 would fit no problem! What am I missing? Only does it in reverse when cranking to the left. It's rubbing directly above the mud flap area in the wheel well. Should I try and hold the well back with something? Thanks for any help

PS Almost ordered some projector headlights off of amazon till I read serge sticky thread. emailed BFC and dude emailed me back in 10 mins. Is that what most of you guys go with?

x9 is only part of the factors you should be looking at, offset is also important as well as tire size/width.

The originals were 17" with a 31mm offset and the new ones have a 10mm offset. I put that into a calculator and it says 4mm less inner clearance and it extends an extra 46 mm. So do I need to put some spacers in or should the tire shop have handled that? Thanks, ignore image, I pasted the wrong info

Does it look a lot lower in front at all, it has 78,000 miles? Would a new OEM shock strut combo give it more clearance?

I think some other threads provided the solution, going to get a 2in leveling kit from rough country.

I think the main problem was the offset on your wheels. 275/55/20 is a factory size tire and should not give any problems, but you stated that your new wheels have a 10mm offset which would make them stick out more. I'm running a 295/35/24 on my silverado at stock height and these wheels have a +30m offset and have no rubbing issues. Same wheels were also used on my 2/3 dropped 2008 tahoe and also had no rubbing.

Nice looking vehicle also. I love that color

I would do a 1.5" level kit to match rear height and your only rubbing due to the offset

But the level kit will take care of the offset problem right?

only happens in reverse? It doesnt do it going forward?

If thats the case, you have either a) bad wheel bearing or b) bad tie rod ends - there is no other reason why only in reverse

In my opinion, both are totally normal by the way

you can check - jack up that wheel

grab the wheel at 12 and 6 and rock it. Any play? bad wheel bearing

If no, grab the wheel at 9 and 3 and rock it. any play? tie rod ends
