I asked that question to two different dealers...neither knew for sure

one said they'd have to reach back out to all their current orders and see if they want to move it to a 23 before officially moving the order over

the other said they'd automatically roll over the 22 orders - didn't say if they'd reach out to the buyer before it was accepted

honestly I'd just ask your dealer...although they may have done some ordering last year, doubtful the volume is anywhere close to what is going on across the country now...I'd expect every dealer to have their own nuances on handling the 2023 orders

I asked the general manager at my dealership today and he said he didn’t know. I never know whether to believe them though.

I talked to my dealer yesterday. He said GM hasn't given them a cutoff date yet, but they will call and ask if you want to let your 22 order expire, or roll it into a 23. I asked why he doesn't have a date, he said normally GM gives them a month notice on the cutoff date, GM has not given them notice, and he isn't sure since the 22's were not released until late in the year, so GM may extend the cutoff date. He said he still feels I will get a 22, but will roll it into a 23 since we have discussed it.

Thanks for asking this as I was wondering the same. Do we anticipate any changes to MY23 for Tahoes or Yukons?

GM Authority did say that the MY23 SUVs will not be getting the LZ0 diesel. :(

My guess is that '22 and '23 will be identical, spare a few paint colors being dropped and new ones added. The LZ0 is likely coming a year early to the pickups and I could see it replacing the LM2 in the SUVs when the '24 mid-cycle refresh goes into production.

Will rolling your order over to a 2023 increase your wait time?

Might be a good thing … saw a YT clip where someone was guessing that the LZ0 was getting DFM. That’s just a guess, of course, and while the stigma is probably deserved, we can still hold out hope that GM will get it right since it’s an all-new design.

Yes...they will take 2-3 month's off from producing cars in between the last '22s built and the start of '23s.

It is not a constant production cycle.

Original estimates were:

April was the cutoff for your order to be accepted
June would be the end of production for all 2022 orders
July-August no production
September starts production of 23s
