should I use the stock box, and just add this

or buy the whole kit that adds the cone filter. question is will I fail smog with the open cone filter over using the stock box? how much gain % is really noted between the two???

I have an S&B Intake on my 5.3L and love it. As for it being in your head? Yeah, maybe. I do notice a sound difference when at WOT or in passing gear. Feels a little more tourqy. Again, idk if its in my head or if its real. What I can tell you, is it looks damn good in the engine bay, GREAT quality (Had K&N on differnt truck. Never again) and I enjoy it.
