IIRC it was because of insurance or something like that. would have been nice to have a real production Tahoe SS though...

4door SS, I dont think so...
A 4 door SS, Na, now maybe if it was a 2dr with an LT1 engine it would have been worthy of the SS badge....

All this time I thought they did, but for insurance reasons they named it "Limited".
Yup, that's what they ended up doing in '99/'00.
The limited 4dr as an example can hit almost 130mph....i'm not sure about the rear gearing, but i certain they raised the electronic limiter on the speedo (my LT '99 is set @ 98mph).
Truck also received pretty neat rims/tires and I "think" it might be an inch lower...but i'm guessing on that one.

2-door and I would have ****** my pants. Maybe if enough of us asked for it we could get a nnbs SS! Probably not though.
