X-cellent idea. NJ garage just put in dye and finds nothing leaking. Will be driving back to MD and UV check it again. Seems I can buy a UV lite at Auto Zone or Advance Auto.Snowbuck- try wrapping the heater hose connectors at firewall and manifold with TP. If it gets wet it wrinkles or disappears. Good for finding small leaks.
Probably because she was smart enough to know you were right, you weren't a dick about it, and it's clear y'all worked well together.Yeah, during that motor rebuild project, I knew that I had a keeper in her. Why she decided to keep me, still remains a mystery to this day.
no, you will want to check directly under the water pump pulley for leaks, it is hard to see right there but you can get under the truck or use a small mirror, you can buy one at the autoparts store they are only a couple bucks and they come on a telescoping rod and pivot to any direction. also check you steam pipe crossover that goes from head to head right under the throttle body also check the caps on the opposite end of the heads, and also check your rear passenger heater core connection under the passenger rear corner of the truck behind the rear wheel.X-cellent idea. P.S. - is there any amount of losing coolant that is "normal"???
Just curioys--do you have 862 heads?OK...now where's MY coolant going??? Have to add about 3/8" to the reservoir every few weeks. Dealer finds nothing. Garage #1 replaces radiator cap and hose clamps. Garage #2 does pressure test = OK. Garage #3 does dye test and another pressure test = no leaks. Oil always looks perfectly good. No white smoke front or back. So after 4 garages...I still keep a gallon of antifreeze in the back seat !!!!!

How long y'all been married, if I may ask?
They all crack in that same spot.Update: Radiator side tank has a three inch long crack on the left side below the upper radiator hose connection. There was some coolant left in the radiator. Not sure about the engine. So I'm going to do the obvious thing and replace the radiator since I got it out in about a half hour. Helps that I previously did a radiator on another GMT 800 with a crack in the same location. The drain plug was not missing after all. But the truth still is that it did get overheated. So fingers crossed.
