Wireless charging: How do I know if I have it?

Hi all. I have a 2015 Yukon SLT. I am interested in upgrading it so it supports my iPhoneX for wireless charging. However, I don't know if I already have the built-in charging which just needs an upgrade or if I need to purchase an entire system. My questions are:

1) How do I tell if I already have wireless charging built-in?

mattsmall1972, if your consoles small black pad is flat you do not have it. The pad has ridges if you have wireless charging.

Thank you for answering the main question.

I want to ask about the pad: is there something special about the pad in a charging setup? I was thinking about simply adding a regular wireless charger into the spot and plugging it into the usb port. Since the pad seems to be different, i am wondering if i am going to have problems transmitting through it.

My 2016 Denali has the charging mat with ridges. I recently got a new iPhone XS and I can not get it to charge that phone or my wife's iPhone 8. Is there something that has to be turned on for it to work?
