My buddy has HPtuners and said if you hook it up, without buying any licenses, you could check using the Test mode to see if turning off the VATS would work. But as soon as you unplug the computer, it will not start up anymore. You must buy the licenses ($100) to unlock the VIN to fully turn it off. I've heard this doesn't always work though.
Unfortunately, you have to License the ECM before you can Apply any changes or patches. 2 credits at 50$ a credit yup.
Comes with a pretty fun scanner tho! You can go into tcm and ecm and do allsorts of diag
I tried to check that but could not locate it. Another post alluded to it being connected with the radio fuse. Pulled it and it was fine. Even tried to start it when it was out; wouldn't start.
I may have to suck it up and leave it to the dealership. It's $140 to use their Tech 2 scanner.
Dont you have a ECM editor with autocal? That you can manually in a tweak settings with?Like I said, I have a Autocal from Black Bear Performance, with a license for my VIN. It comes with lifetime tuning and I can have any changes I want or a completely new tune emailed to me any time. It only takes a few minutes to install once I transfer the files to my Autocal. So I was thinking if I ever have trouble with VATS I can have them email me a new file to disable it.
Not sure. The software is confusing to me, and I don't want to mess shit up. I paid for lifetime tuning so if I want something done, I'll just ask Justin to do it for me. It's better that way! I'd probably end up bricking my ECM.Dont you have a ECM editor with autocal? That you can manually in a tweak settings with?
