I've been doing some searching and can't seem to find a solution for this ...

How can one replace the black plastic tray on top of the armrest/console with woodgrain to match the dash? The same detail as the Denali but with the correct lighter shade of plood?

From this:

To this but with the Tahoe shade:

Thanks.

It is a direct replacement piece that they plasti-dip in that woodgrain to match your oem/factory woodgrain plastic pieces. You send them yours and they do it and ship it back I think...

Thanks Felix.

Does anyone know what a 'core deposit' 'core charge' actually means?
I keep running into this qualifier.

Oh and, if all they do is plasti-dip them, is there a way to get the plasti-dip and do it one's self?

core deposit means you pay like (for example) $100 + the cost of the part, say $70, and when you return your stock part, they'll credit you back the $100.

I see ... so in this case I would keep the armrest they send me and they get to keep mine? Or do they send me a temporary armrest until mine has been redone and then I send it back to them when I get my original one back?

depends on the company. Usually you'd just pay $170 up front, they ship you the part, you ship your stock one back and they credit you $100 upon receipt. (for example)

Mmm ... what happens when the parts aren't in the same condition?
I'd almost rather buy a new armrest and just send it to them to do the woodrain and then get it back. Especially if I'm going to be getting the armrest of the previous guy who sent his in and it might not be in as good a condition as mine.
Dunno, the whole process seems kinda odd to me.
