I like K&N oil filters because of the nut on the bottom. With how they have the filters located it make it much easier to get the filter to the proper tightness when doing oil changes.

Never been changed = loose/bad from factory.

GMC quality control...pathetic.

Kinda...more like a high pitch electrical noise. It was the transfer case control moduleabove the accelerator. Only did the noise running. Pretty easy to pinpoint if that is it plus once you know where to look.

I now have this noise too...thanks for the info. Back to service we go! (I think it is trip number 5 or 6 in the 5 weeks since delivery.)

Thanks for the recommendation. I changed out the POS factory filter today to a K&N, brake cleaned it off really good, test drove & checked for leaks. Nice and dry again.

I've found that the cheapest place to get the oil filter is Summit Racing. I can usually get them for $10 a piece as opposed to 17-18 a piece at the local auto parts store. I once got a case of 10 on eBay for like $80 :)

Were they able to fix your seat?

Honestly, I hate dealers. I have had way too many experiences where I took a nice vehicle in for a minor issue and they tore it all to pieces.

I'm just not willing to let any dealer clowns/techs/grease monkeys lay a finger on it until its either a little older or until it starts getting beat up.

My hose clamp fix 100% took care of the issue. I know there are some haters on that... but thats my viewpoint. To each their own.

Was the noise from the dash coming from the 4wd selector knob? Sound like a high pitch chirping sound?
Doc, we just leased a 2015 1/2 Tahoe LT. My wife started complaining of a high pitched noise coming from the dash on the left side every time she touches the accelerator or immediately after she turns off the ignition but I couldn't hear it. We took it back the dealership and they couldn't hear it either, until my wife convinced them to have their receptionist sit in the car and she immediately heard it. The dealership immediately swapped us to an identical new Tahoe since we had just picked up the car less than 48 hours earlier and their service manager said he can not fix something he can not hear. (very accommodating dealer) New truck had no noise...until while playing around with settings, my wife turned the 4wd selector knob from Auto (which was set from the factory) to 4wd. The high pitch noise came back every time she touches the accelerator. Now, unless she keeps the knob on 2wd, she hears noise on Auto or 4wd, effectively making our new truck a rear-wheel drive car. I did some testing with a sound meter and tone generator. The sound is somewhere around 15kHz at about 44db, which is loud - if you can hear it. Think of a train passing close by kind of loud but ear piercing. I apparently can't hear tones above 14,600Hz and when I tested several colleagues using a tone generator, generally everyone over the age of 40 couldn't hear the tone above 14,800kHz, however a few young women in my office could hear the tone above 15kHz. A quick Google search verified that in fact this is a normal, previously known fact that young women can hear very high pitched tones older women and most men can not hear. Go figure. Now, we have a brand new Tahoe on a 39 month lease we just got that we can't take out of 2wd since it causes my wife to get a serious headache. Do you have this on yours? If so, what was the fix? The dealership says they've never heard of this and want to bring someone from GM in to have at it. It seems to be coming directly from the selector knob or something immediately behind it. Any advice or suggestions would be immensely appreciated! Thanks!

That is most likely the same noise I have. When you change the 4x4 mode it also changes the noise. If you bend down under your dash, listen to the right above your accelerator pedal. Have a second person operate the knob and see if that is where the noise is coming from. I used an electronic stethoscope to locate mine.
