Ahh I see, you are correct sir. Thought that upper reflector was a High beam.
Disregard all the single xenon info above, I would recomend TL's if you want the best and FXR for all round good value performance.

Well, that was actually another option I was pondering. Using the DRL part of the light for either a high or low beam, if there was enough room. I ordered a set of OEM salvaged headlights off fleabay for a little over $80, so once they get here, Im gonna take some measurements. Theres nothing really outside the realm of my mechanical abilities, except when I dont have something in front of me. If I had a nice pile of projectors in front of me, I could find the perfect one..

That upper lighthouse sized reflector is for parking and turn signal lights right?

I can't see the advantage of changing that since you can retrofit a bi-xenon projector on the bottom one ... otherwise you're looking at retrofitting two projectors and finding a new location for those upper lights.

Am I thinking about this wrong?

Well I was just pondering it simply as a different look.. I know it would be twice as expensive, but maybe it would turn out OK. And use the side marker as the turn signal perhaps? Or throw another amber bulb somewhere in the housing..

Well, 'throw another bulb' somewhere sounds easy enough but it's actually not. :)

Plus, depending on your state's laws, you have to have one turn signal pointing forward as it tends to actually be rather important.

You might be overthinking it a tad ... get a bi-xenon projector and shroud that best suits you and call it a day.

Soulsea is quite correct on this. Turning a parking light/ blinker into a functional high beam is probably not going to happen, and retroing a second projector into the housing in that spot for highbeams would increase the difficulty exponentially as they would need to be mounted in a way that allows them to be aimed and then weather proofed. This is in addition to retrofitting your low beam projectors.
It is definitely possible, but difficult and bit much for a first retro. Keep it simple buy a good Bixenon (TL's) and call it a day.

Whats this I've been ready about the headlight housings being a PITA to take apart? I read the part on TRS's website about sticking them in the oven for a few minutes to soften the glue, but it doesnt work for all headlights? Anyone know how the Yukon lights are?

Steve, I don't know about the Yukon ones but the Tahoe headlights are all but impossible to open without braking ... GM uses some sort of permaseal bond.

Most of us use aftermarket clone housings cause they're easier to open (baking method) and you can sell them as is later on and stick your oems back in.

Not sure if Roy used his oem or aftermarkets.

I used aftermarket housings for my (tahoe)retro. But i have seen some members here paint the insides and put Halos around their yukon reflectors. There was no mention of purchasing aftermarket OE housings. So you may be able to use the ones on your truck or pick up some used headlights on ebay
