Reading all of these horror stories about the new ones has made me wonder about every new one I see on the roads… like how long until THAT guy breaks down?

Cylinder 2 lifters failed. Complete set for engine ordered. They're trying to get approval for replacing them all.

Was this a known issue on earlier builds that is supposedly fixed for the newer builds?

Also isn't this the same motor on past 6.2s that's been pretty reliable?

Yes and yes. My guess is they found a new supplier for lifters for cost savings.

I believe there is a TSB, but no recall.

Just had it serviced yesterday, 5070 miles on it. We were headed on an 800 mile trip today, and it started to shake and knock about 144 miles into the trip. At a hotel, and headed back home tomorrow, trip cancelled. Getting a rental car, tow truck will be here in a couple hours to get it back to our home dealership.
