Thanks Dale. Appreciate you taking time and sharing your expertise since 2012. It should also be noted you've achieved 331 'likes' out of 3,230 posts. Just like the guy who sits behind the parts counter in Houston getting lectured by his boss about doing something right - you should know there's more than one way to do something and do it right Dale. A guy doesn't need a GM part or a GM verified body shop God to get something done to his GM vehicle.

I'm sure the guy with his seat from a Cobalt can easily find a creative way other than swapping his cobalt cab onto his S10 frame using stock GM bracketry to get the job done and done correctly. Don't be a hater. Like many other i'm looking for insight on these forums, not ignorant comments about how long you've been doing something by the book.

everyone who has commented in here has given insight on how to do this swap "correctly" and the parts that are involved in doing so. Most guys/gals in here are going to tell you how to the swap completely and make it look right.

Why are you so defensive? If you wanna cobble together some garbage, go on wit yo bad self. He (and others) are only giving you the correct information. If you choose to throw it out the window, have at it. Its your truck, you claim you have some or all of the parts, do it, post pictures and enjoy. All that said, many of us have higher standards than it sounds like you do. We like not having bumps, scratches, gaps, ill fitting parts. We arent "haters" because we choose to hold ourselves, and our vehicles by extension, to said higher standards.

In the end, you are the only one who has to live with your decisions, both good and bad. Theres no reason for animosity.

Think it was Dale's "facts have been touched on a million times on this forum" and no references that got the negative response. I can't say I apologize if I offended anyone.

As for the swap.. went with a different headlight option rather than buying/painting fenders and the rest of what y'all recommend for a "proper" conversion. Both trucks are off-pavement regularly and aren't show trucks like yours. I do however genuinely care about matching fenders and decent light output. The DynamiK halo projectors in the photos above don't accept HID bulbs w/o problems and installing the spare yukon projectors I already have made the most sense, along with the look of the Yukon SL/T grill.

Installed black depos over the weekend aimed with 55w HID's getting the job squared. Others contemplating the conversion can stumble upon this thread, filter through the BS and get a little more of the facts. Hopefully without having to search through the million or so on this topic that Dale had touched on.

The depos where the proper retrofit for this application
No they arent :) the depo is a halogen based projector, not hid. Big difference.

My bad, when you said you cared about light output, i inferred you were interested in doing it correctly.

And, like you, cant say im sorry if that offends you.

Never was trying to be a dick by saying its been touched on a million times. People need to use the search function. If you think the search function is too hard to use - then use google and google this site.

No offense taken chad. PM me the correct way please. Thanks

Dale - Agree the search function is often overlooked. Did you ever search and find a factual statement about the compatibility details of the cross-referenced parts?

After consuming an hour of MY time sifting, browsing the WWW, using different search techniques to I decided to create a topic on here (last resort). Wasn't until the grill was swapped myself, that the conclusion of yes the grill does indeed connect at the right points and w/o custom fab the headlights would require modification of the fenders. The housing brackets for Tahoe don't link and Possibly the hood would not line.

Haven't lost faith in ya Dale. There's a lot of false info on the web and unless you've had you hand physically on the topic outside of the buttons on your keyboard, don't write some non-sense that detracts from this forum. This is great resource minus your ignorant fluff.
