Crap.. Just read that u have a 96'. Yeah, that's gonna be a lil hard to covert. Not impossible, but certainly not easy.

Lotta work, time and money. Prepare to drop quite upwards of 10K on the project if you want it DONE right.

This swap would not be difficult at all. Go visit LS1Tech and LS1Truck. They have everything available to make it go as smooth as possible. As for your tranny, a stock 4l60 will not handle it but if its built by the right people it can handle anything. You could always drop in a T56

Yeah if your gonna go balls deep and do a vette motor swap I think a T56 tranny and dropping the tahoe would be neccasary. Thats just me though..

The newer generation engines. All LS-based blocks. It started in 99-00 I think... Not 100% sure.

I sure hope this swap happens! It'll be fantastic! When you do it, go T56 with the tranny which will make the "fun factor" of driving such a beast go up 10 fold!!
