Before, he just listed it at $15k and now it is $18k Or Best Offer
It was previously listed for $15k and was only getting $9-10k offers. Now relisted for $18k and hoping to get offers closer to the original $15k.

Just playing the numbers, hoping to get more from the un-educated. Kinda like a Barret Jackson thing, lol

I understand what he is doing. He told me, when I offered him $9k, that he had offers between $10k and $13k, and now to try and get closer to his asking price of $15k, he is asking the $18k and because the scrape is obvious, he now includes the pic of it and does admit to the scrape in the ad wordage. I get WHAT he is doing but IMO, he is crooked because he now knows what I found out during my inspection, and of course will not mention it. It is stuff a buyer should check for or have inspected for but I guess, like I said before, some wide eyed buyer will buy the Tahoe without checking thoroughly. He is playing the percentages.

The seller of this Tahoe is a real POS in my opinion. First of all, 18K for a 06 70K mile Tahoe is ridiculous, especially one that has as many small issues as this one. Secondly, if he finds someone who wants to buy it, but needs to finance it - the bank will laugh it's a$$ off. And lastly, there is nothing special at all about this particular unit, and he knows it, but is playing the 'its low mileage and I know what I got game'. With him hiding issues while raising the price, he's a crooked and greedy POS, and I hope he never sells it. 9K for it seems fair, but if it were me, $7500 would be my max offer.

The market must be a lot different where I live, because clapped out GMT800s w 150K+ go for $6-9K here and that 06 w 70K would probably run 10-13K pretty easily, despite all of the minor issues. $9K is a steal.
Exactly. Where I am located, that would get a solid 13k at a dealership. And if they did an in-house fix on the scratch, it would be 15k all day long. Hell, the local chevy dealer just sold an 05 duramax 2500 gmc for 35k and it had 178k on the odometer.
With the new vehicle market prices, use car dealers have figured out they can gouge customers on used prices. Because nobody wants to pay 70k for a new tahoe.

you got a smokin' price (relatively speaking) on your 2005 Escalade...a little over a year ago my 2005 GMC Yukon Denali with 72K miles from Wisconsin...asking price was over $15K after being lowered once...any similar vehicles on a nationwide search placed them in the $19K range...and I had been looking for over a year...

In 2021, I paid 10k for my 05 Escalade with 80k miles on it
Really clean
Yeap.. Paid 9k for my 06 Esky with 82k in 2021, sold it 6 months later for 15k. I think I only got that much because of the Covid pricing. I was not expecting to get it. First person showed up with cash in their hand.. and the full amount!

There's some clean low mileage vehicles out there at a fair price so keep looking. A couple months ago I picked up this 05 Yukon XL SLT 4x4 1-owner 48,000 miles for $11,000. I took this picture when I picked it up from getting the windows tinted.
