The 2500 Suburban got new Bilstein 5100s and front bump stops today. Rides as new, if I knew what new felt like. The old shocks were originals - you could push and pull 'em with ease. Oil change, differentials and transfer case fluids are next in 800 miles; need to fix a rear pinion seal while we're in there. I'm splitting the difference between a reported oil change at 198,000 and the one at 205,000 miles. Full transmission service was last month so I'm closing in on completing maintenance. After that, replace the mirrors which are frozen in position and the front door interior panels where heavyweights have pushed themselves up into the vehicle one time too many.
Big maintenance will come in the early spring - new tires, full set of brakes (looking at the full Power Stop Z36 package with calipers), new hubs/bearings in front - before we run the Oregon Trail and go up to Edmonton through Glacier, Banff, and Jasper National Parks.
