I need someone to tune my '07 Tahoe. I ran it for years after having it tuned so that DOD/AFM were deleted. Has a cat-back and CAI (Sounds great!) But I dropped two cylinders and assumed it had a coupla lifters collapse (Yeah I know what assuming does! 1f641.png ).
I found an aluminum block Gen IV engine on Marketplace that already had an AMS Racing non-AFM DOD delete cam and lifters installed. Engine was about what I would have paid for the DOD-AFM delete kit.
I have had a heart attack and couldn't install the engine myself. A friend of my son installed the engine (He has a part-time shop and I paid him.). But the new engine is running rich on both banks and setting off PO300, PO175 and PO172 codes. He doesn't know how to tune it.
I took it to the shop that had deleted the DOD-AFM years ago, but they got all snarky because I didn't have them rebuild my original engine and they just charged me $145 after two days and just told me what codes it was throwing! 1f641.png
Can anybody in west-central Indiana help this old one-eyed fatman?

Changed engines and CEL and Stabilitrack lights keep coming on. Finally found someone to tune it Next week (Sept23rd). The tuner guy thinks it might be the cheap injectors I got from Amazon. I'll let ya know.

Got an appointment Monday.

Since your tuner has the good sense to suspect injectors bought from Amazon, I feel compelled to ask:
Why are you keeping your tuner a secret?

Just buy a set of GM OE L9H / L94 injectors.

NEVER go to Danville Auto Service and Tire in Danville, In. !!! They were the original shop that deleted the DOD/AFM way back when I first bought the Tahoe. They were the shop I tried to get to tune this replacement engine. I have had a heart attack and can't do much for myself right now. A friend of my son installed the replacement engine for me at a discount price. But the Amazon injectors I bought aren't playing nice and the replacement engine needed a tune. The guy who installed the replacement engine can't tune.
I thought that, since Danville Auto had done the original tune back when we deleted the DOD/AFM, that they would be the best place to get it tuned. WRONG! They got all pissy (I'm guessing since I didn't pay them to rebuild the original engine.) and took two days to pull the error codes and charged me $145. They said that they were "Unable to check further. Suspect may have wrong engine and or/ components"
Another of my son's friend's who operates Import Autowerks Tuning near Frankfort, In. agreed to tune it for me. He found that Danville Auto had locked the computer so that nobody could retune it. He called Danville and they said they couldn't help him! Asshats!
Any suggestions on where I can get a reasonable priced computer? I may need one.

Long story short -- the main issue that Ivan fixed was the counterfeit AC Delco injectors. The lesson is to use a brick and mortar store and/or a trusted vendor.

Actually no. The injectors were just the wrong size. They were 36 lbs and I needed 24 lbs. The only proper size injectors immediately available were the original ones.

I wasn't saying that the problem you had shared the same cause; I thought the diag Ivan did was interesting and I just took the opportunity to remind folks to buy from reputable vendors.

Carry on.
