I used to work at a mechanic shop where the owner also owned a 'vette.
He used 'the best synthetic oil I could possibly find' in it, and changed it every 3000 miles.
He would then run this used oil through a filter (not an engine oil filter), and store it.

There was always a small group of drivers who never used their cars long enough to reach normal operating temp -
EXTREMELY short trips, well under 6000 miles a year.
Unbeknownst to them, their cars were getting his 'vette's used and re-filtered motor oil, for like $25.
I usually change my own, oil but for $64, I think that’s a pretty good deal.
Agree or disagree?
IFF the oil you're actually getting is actually GroupIV synthetic - not GroupIII synthetic or lesser -
then yes it's a good deal (they're not really making any profit).

It’s my local GMC dealership, not an independent mechanic. Doubt they’re keeping old motor oil and filtering it lol. Secondly, the oil they are offering for this deal is Dexos 1 ACDelco full synthetic.

Our dealer does that with tire rotation, top of all fluids, checks alignment for around $80 and it gets entered into the system, important for warranty coverage I think. I do check it over when I get home and - so far - they've been perfect. The dealers use bulk oil, big drum of Dexos full synthetic. Your $64 for 8 quarts, filter, and some lube sounds pretty good these days.

Figured it’s worth it for the sake of time. I usually do them myself. But with winter etc, I don’t care enough to do it myself at the moment.

What about the 2 beers you get to drink while changing your own oil - will the dealer let you drink em in the waiting room? Jokes aside, its a good price if the dealer isn't too far away. I still prefer doing my own since Im done in 30 minutes...

Does sprite and Pepsi count?

I actually will get it done right after they perform some recall work on it.
