I am not sure "coast longer" tells us dfm is on or off. Benefit of the range is that you can still use another obd device to monitor cylinder activation or other stuff.

What is really happening in 0 cylinder mode? All valves stay closed?

Hey, thanks for your review on our device. We're sorry you weren't pleased with the results. We went through ALOT of testing and disabling the 0-cylinder mode at 0% throttle input had some negative driving results we weren't happy with. Disabling that 0-cylinder mode removes the vehicles built in engine braking and caused a massive dropped in fuel economy (2-3mpg) so we opted to leave the 0-cylinder on decel active. After feedback from some users, such as yourself, we are working on implementing the ability to choose whether you keep 0-cylinder or not. We'll be sure to keep our social media channels updated on that progress.

Really appreciate your feedback, but I’m not following you with this part. If your RPMs increase going down hills, doesn’t that mean that the transmission is downshifting and the engine is providing braking? (If so, you’d want that when towing a load, no?) Hoping you can clarify this for me. Thanks.
Don’t know, just be careful going down hill while using carbyte.

I’m not questioning anything you’ve experienced. I’m just trying to understand what you’re saying.

Are you saying that with the Carbyte in, you DON’T get the same engine-braking/slowing of the truck going downhill as with the Carbyte removed? Or the complete opposite?

Thanks again.

Stock configuration, stock deceleration when you take your foot off the gas.
Range 007 configuration, stock deceleration when you take your foot off gas.
Carbyte configuration, doesn’t slow as quick when you take your foot off gas.

I like that the Carbyte can also be used for scan and monitoring. And you can turn on and off the autostop. Not slowing as quick with foot off gas doesn't seem better to me. I don't feel like this vehicle engine brakes more than a non-DFM.

Yes coast longer is a by product of Dfm being defeated.

Hows everyone's experience with this unit been? I have one that I just need to get around to installing it. Maybe this weekend.

The Range unit works fine, just disappointed to know that its not actually a DFM disabler, its more of a DFM condition modifier it would seem because DFM still happens on decel.

Their web site still advertises “all cylinders all of the time”. There is a note which explains the decel, coast, 0 cylinder mode, not really “all cylinders all of the time. Unfortunately I bought their product thinking it was “all cylinders all of the time”. I don’t think that note was on their web site when I purchased it. Does that qualify for a refund?
