Thanks for the comments everyone.
8 speed only comes with the V-6 for now. I drove a loaded V6 and it had to shift down a lot to maintain speed on the highway. The Hemi just powers thru hills. We are going to get it tinted. Was about to put a rear headrest DVD system in but it has active...
My wife and I looked at how much we used the Denali to its full cargo capacity and decided it might be better to have a different vehicle. My daughter just graduated from High School so there pretty much is just 3 of us now.
She wanted AWD. We looked at the Enclave but I wasn't really that...
I replaced the Bridgestones with Michelins. I would never give Goodyear a dime of my money unless it comes with the car.
I had Forteras on my 06 Envoy Denali and they barely lasted 25k miles and had pretty much no grip in deep snow.
I had to use the spare twice already. Picked up an old worn wheel weight in the middle of no where then about 3 months later the right front tire blew out and my wife was only driving around 30 mph. She lost interest in Bridgestones real quick.
I only wish Onstar was an option. I don't think many people would spend $500 to get it.
I definitely use most other features including the cooled/heated seats, heated steering wheel. My wife has Raynard's Syndrome so heated steering wheel/seats are a must. Cooled seats are nice on warm...
Live rear axle is disappointing. Ford won't put independent on the Mustang and it hurts that car and GM won't put it on the Tahoe. I wonder if they reduced the gas tank size on the 14 Tahoe to make room for the flat folding seats.
I know the vehicles are safe because little cars tend to...
GM is sort of like Bose, always behind in technology. By the time they develop something, it has already been out for years. With Bose their Video Wave system comes with an LCD TV, not LED.
New Tahoe will probably be more efficient but lack features other vehicles in the same price range...
My GMC dealer is not that great to be honest.
However I have a couple Chevys and my local Chevy dealer is good most of the time.
There is another Chevy dealer nearby that I did business with before that is crap though (one of the biggest around me).
How are imports? I don't know...
GM's V8s tend to "sweat" a bit from the oil pan. My 07 Impala SS, 08 Corvette and now my 09 Denali seem to have the problem. Not enough oil to go on the floor but it makes the oil pan look dirty. It is a $1k repair if not in warranty.
My Denali with 45k miles on it never used an extra...
Mileage seems low to be honest. My Denali XL AWD got that mileage on our big trip back east last summer. Usually 17-19 mpg on the highway, cruising 5 over the speed limit (70-75). Worst was heading west across Wyoming at around 15.5 mpg. Big headwind that was enough to reduce the 18...
2WD or 4WD/AWD? You'll have to change both sets of gears if it is 4WD/AWD. I also recommend finding someone with 3.73s in your area just to see if you like the difference. More RPM, noise, less gas mileage.
I know I researched how much to upgrade my gears in a 2003 Trailblazer that I...
My Chevy dealer always offers a loaner, especially if it is something hard broke, not intermittent. GMC dealer does not and their service department isn't that great anyway. A big reason why I would probably buy a Chevy before a GMC.
Since you noticed it after the tune up then it is most likely something you did during the tune-up. Different plugs? Plug gap? Wires? Throttle position relearn?
Just make sure your rotors are not out of "alignment" to begin with by using an on-car brake lathe. I heard R1s are good, I went with EBC brakes on my Impala. Slotted only, drilled is mostly for looks.
I think I found and fixed the problem. Upon removing the rt tail light assy I noticed it was a pain to remove after I took the two screws out.
I looked behind it and the top mount was broken. Finally got it off with some light convincing and reglued the mount back to the assy...
My friend has one in his Corvette. It works great but it looks like a radar detector. It mounts just below the mirror. I can get the name, cost and pics if someone is interested.
I would never own one for everyday driving but for nice scenic roads.
In city driving my wife might fill up her Denali twice in a month, so you are looking at around $400 a year. On the highway we have seen anything from 16-20mpg (XL Denali AWD) cruising at 70-80 (mostly 80 out west). 16 mpg is into a strong 40 mph or more headwind crossing Wyoming, enough wind...
There is a semi-loud rattle behind the rear headliner right above the rear window. Does anyone know how to get the headliner off. My daughter sat in the 3rd row seat on the right side and the noise was right above her. We can hear it from the front so it is annoying.
I cannot complain about my 09 Denali. We drove it from Utah to NJ and back and averaged around 18mpg cruising around 5 above the limit. With its 31 gallon tank I still had a 500+ range.
AWD is nice, wife was always confused before what to use with our Envoy Denali. 2WD/A4WD/4WD. She...
