Mids and highs dropping with sub playing.

Don't focus on watts. It's all about the amps your electronics need and having the wiring to deliver it. Just call knukonceptz.com they can walk you through the basics. For music, your amp draw will fluctuate, the alternator doesn't necessarily have to match the total fuse ratings of your amps.

Mids and highs dropping with sub playing.

Connect speakers directly to the head unit. If it still cuts out, then the headunit is the problem. If it plays fine, then it's the amp itself or the amp is not set up properly and it's time to get out the multimeter and start testing.

Bypassed amp, lost sub and rear speakers

Since those speakers are still hooked up to the factory amp, connect the blue remote turn on wire from the head unit to the pink wire on the factory harness. This will only turn on the amp, but the speakers will not be getting any music from the headunit. If your are only using headunit power...

New wheels, white guages, lots of fake wood

Not my thing, but if you're going to do it, got to go all the way, that glove box cover is awesome.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Too funny. This is one of the easiest fixes. The clunk on my burb was non stop driving me crazy. ---------- Post added at 06:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:14 PM ---------- Probably power steering pump is turning to slow at low engine rpm so you lose pressure. Just keep a little...

2002 Tahoe Window Does Not Roll Down

That's a good deal. If you are concerned about quality, some brands have lifetime warranties. There are coupon codes for the national auto parts stores. If you are installing yourself, the ebay part is what I would do. It could break twice and it would still be cheaper.

    Third row seat issue

Usually the tab at end of the release cable comes off over time. Just need to figure which side came off. Look where the seat latches to the floor as you move the lever. I use a wire coat hanger to release mine. Too lazy to fix since I rarely fold down the third row.

    Steering Wheel Control lights out

If the paint is wearing off, new OEM buttons are good. The hardest part is removing and reinstalling the buttons. The easiest way involves removing the steering wheel.

    New Speakers

Focal has a great rep. But before buying, have you personally heard them? Every system is set up different from the head unit, to amp, to sound deadening. Definitely a great starting point. Stay away from the cheap crap.

2004 Tahoe stock amp and sub, can I put new subs on the stock amp?

You could, but it's probably a waste of time. What ohm are your subs wired to? I think the stock amp is 2 ohm. Don't remember. High class JL subs hooked up to stock GM amp is just odd. Good luck.

Help! Need a Sub/ System! Suggestions??

This can be done on your budget. Audio is subjective. I have hooked up friends systems for that price and they are happy, but I wouldn't use the same set up. For some a single 10 is enough. Most audio guys are brand loyal and can be snobs. I recommend visiting a few shops and listen to...

Will replacing factory speakers be enough?

This could spiral out of control, and I don't want you to waste money. Considering what limited knowledge we have about your listening preferences, start with the basics and build from there. Definitely get a new head unit and door speakers. If it sounds good to you, there is no need for an amp...

    Exhaust tip

Well done sir. To OP, also check out longer length exhaust tips. It will hide the bend in the exhaust pipe when looking at your rig from behind. Also avoids the look of a skinny exhaust pipe with a fat tip on the end.

    Exhaust tip

Do it. But it has to be done right with clean welds. An exhaust shop may have better quality tips and more selection than autozone.

Barn doors on NBS not available after 2001, I think. I like barn doors, since power lift gate wasn't available until NNBS.

    part # for shifter boot

The boot is about $10 at my local stealer. If not, online like GMpartsdirect. Access to the connector for the tow wire in under the steering column. Hopefully the button is not broken, my understanding is that the button is not replaceable/removable. If so, people usually swap to Denali or...

    part # for shifter boot

Removing the dash bezel will give you more room. It just pulls straight out. You do not have to remove the knee bolsters.

    part # for shifter boot

Absolutely. I've done a few this way. When you do, you may want clean the shift linkage with some compressed air. Dirt and rubber bits can build up from the old torn boot.

If you have power seats, you can tap into power under each seat near the harness.

    part # for shifter boot

Very nice write up. May be a bit overkill. I just replaced my friends shift boot. One drop of WD-40 and it slid right over the shift knob. It also helped being a warm day.

    part # for shifter boot

Dealer price was around $10 to $15. Install is simple. One screw to loosen the steering column cover. Slide or cut off the old one from the shifter column. May need a little lube on the new one to get it over the shift knob. That's it.

    Steering column clunking noise....

Very simple to replace or re-lube. Only two bolts if replacing. The factory updated part at the dealer was less than $80 when I did this about two years ago. There was a factory re-lube kit which was later replaced with the updated part.
