Inspect all of the spark plugs. If she was turning over 3,000 rpms a lot on that trip, she'll go through a bit of oil. Check out all the cooling system tanks and lines and look for small leaks.
Looking forwards to the results.
A dude sweet on one of my daughters had a Ram with an 8-speed and the 5.7 Hemi. That truck would jump out in front of my 6.2 with 3.73 gears because of the steep gearing in the 8-speed. I would have had to put in 4.30 or steeper gears to compete.
I love the...
I don't know for sure. I figure yours was stored upside down and all the fluid leaked out the vent. This happened to one of mine on the way home from LKQ once.
If yours was mine, I would measure the backlash first and maybe do a contact pattern on the gear teeth and then note the position...
It was meant as a joke but the joke is on me! I didn't know that a physical PCV valve was used on your engine. They still don't have fuel filters though.
They ought to be thoroughly inspected. I would also rotate the pinion with the carrier removed to check for binding from any corrosion it may or may not have.
Mine got rained on after we put the new yoke in the 2nd time and got the crush washer in and rotational torque to where it's supposed...
Is it possible that one device is connecting before the other can? It is also possible that your phone is connecting to another bluetooth device, like a dashcam or something in your home and then will not connect to the car. Been there, done that.
Some of those transmission upgrades you can do without removing it to extend its life behind the 6.2. See @skpyle thread with lots of photos on the subject.
It's cheaper to keep her.
Which engine and transmission combination do you have? You generally want the line coming out of the top of the radiator to then go to the external transmission cooler. Some of those K2s like yours have a different setup where the top of the AC condenser is the transmission cooler.
Not a terrible price from GMC. You can of course buy GM parts from Rock Auto, off Ebay, Amazon, etc. for less and then you have labor for installation and break in.
If you are mechanically inclined, you can do it yourself for less if you wish to spend the time. If yours were mine and I got...
I bet that they replaced the original vent at the differential and left the old one next to it. They are both vents, probably from the front axle and maybe to include the transmission but that's usually on the other side.
Jim, the best thing you can use to clean your fuel system is a couple full tanks of E85. The motors love it and it will clean up the injectors in no time. Otherwise, run top-tier fuels, they have the best additive packages. My trucks get fed E85 or 93 octane from Chevron most of the time...
They are not very difficult to work with internally. You could drop the original out, overhaul it and have it all buttoned up over a weekend if you've never done it before and are reasonably proficient with tools and following directions. A man who does this everyday could start after...
I remember that you use the Tech-2 to capture data from the old cluster to program into the new one. What I don't remember is if the ACDelco TDS system is involved or if this is all done through the scan tool.
