Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

This was happening a couple years ago on my '07, and even replaced the compressor with new, but it was still happening. Went to the stretch belt and no more problems.

Nope, that's the right part. Mine was the same.

[noise] drive shaft rubbing? - SOLVED

Yes, but it requires removing the starter and holding it gear end down to see if the drive gear falls down to the end of the shaft. But, if your starter is original, it's not the worst thing in the world to replace it with a new one anyway. Eventually it *is* going to fail, so it's one less...

[noise] drive shaft rubbing? - SOLVED

Sounds like either the starter or a cracked flex plate. A pretty common issue on these is the starter drive gear return spring fails and lets the gear bump against the ring gear on the flywheel. It's particularly noticeable under acceleration. Similar thread...

2023 XL Denali ticking noise (this is the replacement truck for the one that had 2 engines die)

Yeah, so that's a lifter going out. That seriously sucks, man.

    L86 gen 5 lifter kit

FANTASTIC WORK!! So glad you got it all back together and it's running well. Thanks for the follow-up and lessons learned. Also - I've never seen a cam flat-spotted like that. All I can say is wow! And now you're good to go for another 200K. Also, how's the cam? Are you happy with the...

Should I be hesitant to buy a 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate?

Every new generation of these trucks comes with a (statistically) small number people who have a lot of problems with them that all get worked out by the end of the warranty period and they keep them for 300K miles. If you're going to keep it after the warranty period, there are things worth...

    2022 z71 tahoe oil leak!!!!!

Welp, it's good to know that the LT engines haven't solved that leaking problem at the oil cooler plate above the filter that plagued the LS engines too. I agree with the others here. Let the dealer fix that. Those are small bolts threaded into aluminum. If you get down there with a wrench and...

    12v outlets always on

How did I not know this?!? Going to try it out because I have a dashcam that I'd like to have switched power for, too.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

In my case, I had a significant leak at the drivers side steering rack bellows because one of the internal seals in the rack was failing. I also had a smaller seep where the pressure line entered the rack.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I did the same thing on my '07 a couple years ago. All new pressure and return lines, plus a new steering rack because my original was leaking. Gotta watch those line fitting seals on the rack. Easy to get them in there cattywompus such that they leak.

    Maitnence reccomendations?

Congrats, you got lucky and got a low usage one. All fluids: Trans, TC, F&R diffs at a minimum. Within the next 1-2 years: Replace the coolant tees at the firewall. Might as well do all of the belts and hoses while you're in there and replace the coolant, too. Enjoy it. Do some browsing and...

#1 and #5 injectors not firing

Something to keep in mind: It's worth tracing the wires for the non-firing injectors back to the ECU - in particular the pulse signal wire. Each injector has two wires - one for the coil voltage and the other for the pulse signal from the ECU. The wiring diagrams above show what these are. You...

#1 and #5 injectors not firing

Best I've found is to subscribe to alldatadiy. Here are the ground points for the engine harness. I believe the ECU will ground the injectors through either #1 or #2, depending on the side of the engine. Note that I have also updated my post above with more details.

#1 and #5 injectors not firing

Thanks for sharing the details of all you've done up front. Helps a lot. With all of that, my money is on a bad ground since both cylinders share a common ground. Good that you have 12V to each, but a bad or weak ground could be the root cause. Edit: After I said this I looked at the wiring...

    Useless Information

I'm with Chris. With your attention to detail and especially your depth of knowledge should anything go wrong, I would trust your Yukon more than I would trust a rental these days. One of the reasons I maintain our vehicles the way I do is to reduce the chances of a breakdown on the road to as...

2013 Chrome wheels vs Painted wheels.

Do you have a picture of the specific wheels in question? If it's these, there is a difference between the finishes on the center cap but they should be otherwise interchangeable as the model number of the wheel is the same, but with a different letter on the end denoting the finish:

    High pitched scraping while driving

Yes, it could be. Get the front wheels in the air one at a time, hold at 9 and 3 and shake, then at 6 and 12 and shake. Bearing play will be obvious and it's a common issue with sealed hubs like ours use.

    2008 tahoe 5.3l afm/dod delete issue

Probably two problems: 1/ Poor quality lifter. 2/ Poor quality lifter trays. I learned this lesson the hard way that the only trays that are safe to use are GM OEM. Here is what happened when I didn't use OEM trays: And the machining quality on the barrel of the lifter you shared a photo of...

I want to replace my ignition coil, which one do you recommend Tahoe 5.3 2007

NGK is an OEM supplier to GM for ignition components, so I suspect they will be good coils.
